Lights, camera, action! On World Theatre Day, March 27th, our Cambridge Year 6 students at GIIS KL transformed the school’s auditorium into a theatrical wonderland. This annual celebration honors the art of theatre and its profound impact on society. Established in 1961, World Theatre Day is a day for theatre enthusiasts  around the world to come together, showcase their talents, and reflect on the magic of storytelling, cultural exchange, and social commentary that theatre brings to life.

Our Year 6 students embraced this spirit with infectious enthusiasm. The audience was in for a whirlwind adventure through the captivating world of theatre. Students took on the role of performers, enlightening their peers with presentations showcasing the vast array of theatrical forms. Their exploration took the audience on a journey across cultures and traditions, highlighting the diversity of theatre. But the magic didn't stop there! The talented students brought a beloved fairy tale to life with an enthusiastic role-play of "Jack and the Beanstalk," showcasing their creativity and passion for the dramatic arts.

This assembly wasn't just about entertainment; it was a celebration of the 9 Gems in action. Students honed their Visual and Performing Arts skills, while fostering their Personality Development through self-expression and confidence. The event also sparked Innovation and Creativity as they explored theatrical storytelling.  Subtly woven into the presentations were themes of quality education, reduced inequalities, and peace, connecting the performance to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.  If you missed this dramatic display of talent, fear not – the future of theatre is shining brightly at GIIS KL!
